RAM installation I recently upgraded my dell optiplex gx150 from windows 2000 to windows xp and in the process I added a 256 stick of pc133 sdram. When I started my computer back up it told me that the case had been opened and that I could press f1 to retry boot or f2 for setup utility. So I went into setup and reset my chasis intrusion detector and then hit esc and then it rebooted but when it rebooted I got the same new memory detected press f1 to retry boot or f2 for setup utility. So I took out the new piece of RAM and redid everything and it still gave me the new memory detected press f1 to retry boot or f2 for setup utility. So I have hit a wall and I have no Idea what else to do if it wont detect the original stick of RAM so please any help would be appreciated

First off, you've done a lot of work for nothing. What you need to do is put back the new memory. When the Dell Bios boots, it confirming that it has detected the new memory. What you need to do is hit the F1 key to reboot and continue on to the XP installation. When you open the case, it will say the same thing. Don't worry about it, it's only confirming that the case was opened. Typically, I shut off the case intrusion detection, only because I'm always adding things to the machines and it's just a extra step I have to take to boot. However, it's good to know that your bios is confirming that you've opened the case, and that you've put in new memory. You want to make sure that the setup recongizes the entire memory in the banks. So, go to the system information page and make sure that it's reading the original and the additional memory 256k you added. Otherwise your done.

Just for kicks, when you turn on the machine press the F8 key continuely on post. Post means from the time it beeps, until it comes up with the dell logos, just keep hitting the F8 key. If it gets to a screen that asks you what you want to boot from, click on your hard drive and see if that makes a difference. Hopefully it will by pass the memory issue.
