Hey, regarding the range i dont think its this less i mean 2-3 feet, mine works at some 5 feet also Try replacing the batteries, if that doesnt help i guess the receiver is not able to receive the signals properly because of some obstruction. Try and put the mouse in clear sight of the receiver. If still the problem persists.. check out your mouse range from its website. Cheers Kushal
