Raymarine 6000 auto pilot course computer type 100
My auto pilot indicates erratic heading data. Even with the boat stationary it jumps up and down several degrees. Steering has become impossible.
I've eliminated external influences on the compass, bad contacts etc.
The fluxgate is fine, I've tried it with an ST40 compass system.
If I connect the ST40 system via Seatalk, this takes priority over the directly connected compass and the AP works fine. I am in electronics myself, and the auto pilot behaviour is consistant with a A/D converter that has failed. Do you guys have enough knowledge of the Raymarine course computers to undertake rapair?
