RCA L40FHD41YX9 40-inch LCD TV screen has gone black. Still has sound. Flashlight test reveals dim images in background; so cable signal is good. Does anyone know what part I would need to fix this?

You most likely need a new backlight for the TV... This also can happen to laptop monitors too...
