Re Skype: My daughter has a Mac we have a PC. The video calls work between the two machines except that the video only shows a frame at a time and not a continuous video. Pc to PC works ok and the latest Skype version (not Beta) has been loaded on both machines

Check your webcam drivers are up to date. this problem also may occur if your internet connection is slow. 54 MBps is standard right now. Anything lower can result in choppy performance. Also click on Help in the Skype preferences.
