Receiver will not turn on for wireless guitar
I've changed the batteries in the guitar and the red light comes on, but when I press the button on the receiver, nothing happens. This guitar is the Ps 2 guitar hero 3 kramer. The receiver is a Red Octane.

I have torn 2 of these receivers apart and have ohm'd them out and found that the manufacturing process to put them together is very sub par.
On the two I had Capacitor c3 was off the board (smd). This is NOT a repairable problem if you don't have the low heat soldering equipment. Besides, you might correct one problem and find you have others because of the forceful procedures you have to do to get it apart.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is buy a replacement (available at Red Octane's site[19.99]) or take a chance on EBAY sellers that claim to have the item [9.99].
Also, if you have a lot of time on your hands it is possible to hard wire the device (I do not have the pinouts). Pinouts should be online as I have seen several articles on it.
Hopefully I have given you some insight.

Had same problem - lights on but game taking no notice of controller. Just to exhaust all possibilities I swapped the controllers over so that the normal dual shock controller was in port 1 and the wireless receiver was in port 2 and weirdly it all seemed to work fine set up that way...
My Kramer guitar or guitar hero 2 on platstation won't work but light is on
