Recently replaced the driver information switches on the bottom of the steering wheel for a 03 silverado. Do I need to have something in the computer flashed to make these work properly?

Try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it (wait a couple of minutes before reconnecting). If that doesn't work you can pick up a code reader on eBay for about $20 that will clear everything and its always good to have for those dang "Check Engine" lights
