Reconnecting power swith, LED light for power and hard drives on emachine
I saw your response to another question so I thought you might know. I recently had no power on my eMachine T2893. I discovered from the net that they have a notorious problem with supply, and I inspected mine and found a tiny capacitor rolling around inside the supply with brown burn residue where it should have been plugged. I bought and installed a suitable replacement but when troubleshooting before; I removed the connector for the on/off switch and LED lights for the power and HD. The new supply shows a green light on the motherboard but there is no response when I press the on/off switch. I'm thinking that I did not reconnect the the three connectors properly and before searching for a schematic or using a voltmeter I thought you might know. The mobo has a "front panel series of 7 pins. Logic dictates that one rail is hot and the other is common, but that is not the way I remember they were configured when I pulled them. Any help?
