Red LED light remains on and beep sound
Chamberlain Whisper Drive Model 248754 is less than two years old.
The red LED stays on and a beep sounds every 30 seconds or so.
The manual only says "contact for service".
Any suggestions/advice so that we can fix ourselves or at least know what's happening before calling for service?

My battery is bad. I knew it, but did not feel like it was worth any of my attention. The beeping started yesterday and this was worth my attention. Everyone in the family complained. I suspected it was the battery.
I unplugged the unit. Disconnected the battery. Waited for 30 seconds. Plugged it back in. It works fine and no beeping.
I suspect it is a warning to replace the battery.
thanks for the help...worked just as you said. Found a replacement for $40 at Lowe's.
I have the same problem with mine also right now. Help.
Did the 30 second trick with no joy. Have to replace battery I guess. I wonder what the voltage should be on a charged battery
