Reformatting compaq presario
Cd-Dvd drive is not reading...tech at place where I bought notebook thought it might be virus damaged registry and that i should try to reformat from disc. I have the 1st disk in and computer off but windows boots too quickly before I can read menu to choose. When the boot screen comes up, just exactly what am I suppose to choose?

I wanna ask one thing, does your compter show CD/DVD drive in My Computer menu? If yes, then its hardware of DVD/CD drive problem, not a virus. Clean the lens of drive with fine cotton swab, hope it works/ reads.
As I said bfore, Please clean Optical Lens of DVD drive with fine cotton swab. Lens seams dusty.
DVD drive is defective. Replace it with new one.
