My Hotpoint HTS18GBRERWW Top Freezer Refrigerator gets too cold in both the fridge and freezer sections (verified by a thermometer) but the compressor keeps running. I bought a new thermostat and the problems still exists. If I turn the unit off and then back on, then it will stay off until the thermostat kicks in again but once it starts, it will keep on running. Once in a rare while will it stop by itself.

There is a relay/start capacitor for this unit - could that be the problem?
