Kidding. You have to go to a Sony Service Center and they will program it for you. Oh, and you may have to remind them the courts have stated they must comply. So, bring the Sony player and your remote. They won't be happy as they can't charge you either. If need be, just mention the Better Business Bureau. That always works.
Player can be made to work without remote. But it is a pain. You need to press pause then play in the right combination.and you can get both DVDs and Blu Ray disks to work. I bought a store floor model that did not have a remote.
