remote, while in the middle of fishing my motor took a complete left turn and kept going and wrapped up the coil in the motor. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and does the same thing and now my remote does not work. The unit works with the foot pedal. Am I safe to assume it has something to do with a connection in the remote add on? Thanks!!!

Yes this sounds like the remote add-on is having issues, or the receiver portion of the remote add-on at least. Hopefully it is still under warranty and you can get it replaced at no cost.
