Remove steering wheel and steering column in 1992 acura legend
My steering wheel locked when i removed the key, then when I tried to start the car the steering wheel wouldn't unlock and turn so that i may start the car. The ignition lock cylinder seems to be malfunctioning, and possibly warn. It needs to be repaced. I was told in order to resolve the problem that the enitre steering wheel and column must be removed. I need to know how to do that. I was also told that there are (5) bolts that hold it in place. I see (4). Where is the fifth one and how do I remove the column safely without causing any damage to it or the airbags in the steering wheel?

First , as you try to turn on the ignition , move the steering back and forth to release the pressure on the lock tab on the steering shaft
next you will have to install a safety pin to stop the air bag going off
there are 4 bots that hold the lock assembly onto the shaft but you will need a grinder to get the bolts out as they have no heads
it is easier to remove the steering column complete from the car to replace the switch
it is not really a diy job unless you have a workshop manual and some mechanical experience
