Typically, wiper arms terminate in a "J" shape at the end of the arm where it connects to the wiper blade. Purchase new wiper blades the proper length. Hinge the wiper arm up away from the windshield so it's sticking straight up from the car. Rotate the wiper blade so that it's perpendicular with the arm. Now press the wiper blade assembly so that it disengages from the hooked "J" bend in the arm. Re-attach the new blades using the same procedure but in reverse.
