The crankshaft pulley attaches to the engine's vibration dampener with six bolts, which enter through the center of the pulley. The pulley faces the bottom of the radiator, which can make accessing and removing the bolts uncomfortable. The bolts can be removed from either through the engine compartment, or from underneath the vehicle.
Because the bolts are recessed within the pulley, they cannot be removed with a traditional wrench. Therefore, attach a three inch extension to a socket wrench, then attach a deep-set socket to the opposite end of the extension. Turn each bolt in a counterclockwise direction with the socket wrench, then pull the pulley off of the vibration dampener. If the pulley seems to be stuck, lightly tap on one side of the pulley with a rubber mallet to dislodge it from the dampener. Joe
