Be careful, because the cold really could crack that plastic cowl.... that being said, it isnt too hard of a job.
Take the wiper arms off. 13mm IIRC and ease & coerse them off. A little force may be necessary, but dont overdo it. There are 3-4? push pin retainers and 2 screws IIRC and the antenna to remove the cowl. From there you will get the idea. Unplug the wiper motor, unbolt the trans, and go from there.
