Hello My name is Shane and i own a 2 litre auto Scenic on an S reg. I work in a police garage that is equiped with all the latest diagnostic equipment but i have a gear box fault on my 2litre monaco scenic auto at home and haven't been able to get the vehicle to my place of work due to the gear box only engaging drive for 30seconds to a minute at a time . you have to then leave the engine switched off for a lest 15 minutes then it will engage again for the short time. I changed the gear box oil (putting in 4liters of dextron2) and have used a spray can auto box cleaning fluid .The Renault dealer we (at work ) have a parts account with have sent me a parts diagraim of the electronic's of the gear box but the service department and Renault uk will not give me a list of fault codes or any help on solving my problem .. I have had a word with the work shop and the think it could be a solniod problem - but as i can not get launch home to use on it as the work shop is open 24hrs. Can you please help or point me in the right direction please . I have space to take the box the part ,but it is still in the car - some body at work side it could be just the filter causing the problem as the oil isn't traveling through freely but this does not sound right.
