Repair hard drive hey guys - i've had 2 500gb sata 2.5s fail, one was quite new and working fine externally, i formatted it and installed it on a customer's laptop (she left the charger out during updates and it cut out), she then gave it to me to reformat, i left the charger out during install, now it wont even format, i've tried chkdsk and hdat2, and a few other programs for sector recovery, it spent hours after 32% and i turned it off, now it wont even go past 1%. does anyone know of a decent FAST hdd repair tool that can rejuvenate hdd's? it's not physically damaged or anything and seems a shame to just sell them off for cheap, i've got a bunch here

i'm unsure if it will begin a low level sector test like these, i'm basically looking for something which can do fast surface level tests and isolate them.

download it burn it to a disk then load it onto your hard drive
after you have done this put your windows disk in again and load it ontoyour hard drive
i have done this and it works
