Be positively sure the power is off before opening the heater. After removing the door, look for two wires that have a thick white teflon jacket on them. These two wires lead to you ignitor.
To assure that the ignitor is the problem, run a resistance test across the two wires when at least one is disconnected. If you are reading any ohms, or hear a beep from your meter, the ignitor may not be the issue. It should read as an open circuit.
There are two screws that hold the ignitor. They are about 3/16" hex head and should be found where the wires pass through the metal bracket. (Some may vary)
At this point its just a matter of un-mounting the old one and installing the new. Be sure to place the insulating pads properly.
this guy forgot to tell you the most important thing. whatever you do, do NOT touch the element on the new igniter. oils from ur skin will crate a hot spot, causing premature failure......Rookiesthis guy forgot to tell you the most important thing. whatever you do, do NOT touch the element on the new igniter. oils from ur skin will crate a hot spot, causing premature failure......Rookies
