Disconnect power supply to the washer then insert a plastic putty knife or similar tool in line with the lid seam, as shown, and push in to release the catches on the left and right side.
Once the catches are released, lift the front of the top cover and tilt toward the rear of the washer. Unsnap the splash guard starting in the lower right corner, as shown, then work around the perimeter until the guard is totally free.
Follow the removal steps in reverse order when installing the new splash guard.
