Replaced bulb. Worked for a while then wouldnt power up again
Last week I turned on my Infocus X1 projector and heard a crackling sound. The bulb would not light and I got 3 red blinks. I ordered another bulb and replaced it today. The projector powered on, I reset the counter and watched tv for about 10 minutes. I shut it off and then left. I came back an hour later and tried to turn it on. The fan comes on with blinking green light. I can hear the colorwheel spinning. The light then turns steady green and the bulb tries to fire. It soudns like cheew cheew cheew then the blinking light turns red and blinks three times.

The cheew cheew cheew is the colorwheel not spinning properly. either the colorwheel motor is shot, the sensor can't sense it, or the power to it is too low. first thing: remove the cover and blow the dust out of it with canned air. dust does a lot of damage to these. if it is the sensor, cleaning it off might help. if it is the colorwheel, i have bad news: on the x1, the colorwheel is not sold seperately from the optical engine. you'd have to get the entire optical engine. now the worse news: infocus no longer makes or sells parts for the x1. you could try and find one on ebay that has a different problem and swap out the parts
