replacing passenger side tire
I own a 93 Subaru Impreza. Recently I was driven off the road by an inconsiderate, to put it nicely, driver. When this happened, it blew out the front passenger tire. I recently replaced it but now I am having difficulty with the tires locking up, or the braking system locking the tires up. When this happens, there is a loud thudding noise, NOT grinding, but thudding but as soon as I pull off and stop, whatever is making the tire seize up releases and the car goes good for a few miles then does it all over again. Any ideas as to what this is and how to fix it? I'm hoping that it's not a costly project because, quite frankly, the dinosaur isn't worth it. I was told that it was most likely the ABS sensor and that, if I pulled the ABS fuse, I could operate the vehicle safely and it would cease to be a problem. Any truth to this? I was also told that it could be a bad wheel bearing. I'm lost. Help, please?
