Replacing the facepale
How do I go about replacing the faceplate ?
I got the stereo used and it opens/shuts with some help and plays music so I figured I would replace the faceplate.
I can see that the top left pin to the FP has the tip broke off.
I dont have the manual to read so I dont know how to remove the faceplate.
TIA for any help.

That hole on that model is for a locking screw, the locking screw is installed to minimize theft and for other precautions. If the face plate is having any odd reactions its normally do to the flex cable. The best sign for a dying or dead flex cable is at the joint. The joint can be viewed at the point when you remove the face plate. Immediately after pulling the face plate off look behind the pivoting frame at the orange colored ribbon, you should only be able to see a small portion of it. If there is any sign of a yellowy residue its a sign that the protective covering of the ribbon is deteriorating. A bad flex cable is everything on the moving face plates.
