Resolution 1280x1024 is missing
I have a Nvidia GeForce 7650 GS graphic card, and I'm running XP. I normally use 1280x1024 resolution, but it seems that the resolution isn't longer available. I can now choose between; 800x600, 960x600, 1024x768, 1088x612, 1152x864, 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x800, 1360x768, 1440x900. I have no idea how I got all those new resolutions, and then have lost the 1280x1024 one.

Sounds like you have either a generic/basic driver, or none at all.
Reinstall your nvidia drivers, make sure to download the newest from nvidias website. Before you install, go to add/remove programs and remove any nvidia related software, otherwise the new driver installation will do you know good. And for future reference, every time you update your video drivers, you need to uninstall the old ones.
What is your monitors model number?
You say you were able to run 1280x1024 before without any problems?
It could be that your monitor doesn't support that resolution, is it a wide screen?
Have you made any hardware or major software changes recently. Do you remember when you first started having trouble, and do you remember if you made any changes, installed or uninstalled anything shortly before then.
Give me as many details as you can.
