I have a 1999 volvo s80 t6. The car had just been in for brake job and when I picked up car the check engine light was on and message "emmisions system needs needs maintenance". Took it back to shop shop and they said that one o2 sensors were bad. Total cost for replacing the o2 sensors 500$. Took it to another shop they said that both sensors were bad.Did nothing at this point. Pick it up from shop and it seemed to run very good for first few miles. Then it got worse the more I drove it. At idle it smelled like partially burnt fuel. and would bearly run. Anything above idle and it ran well with plenty of power. Nobody gave me any code and when I took it to an auto parts store they put it on scanner and said nothing had come up and that it seemed like he could not get to the history. Car has 130,000 miles. Any thought?

171 and 174 are lean mixture codes, 300 is a random misfire (any cylinder). Check for a vacuum leak, listen for a hissing noise with engine idling.
