Rinnai 2001 gas heater will turn itself off and the pilot goes out. Once it is cooled the pilot light will light and the heater works well for a short time when it all repeats itself

Is it a vented unit? sounds like if it is, the exhaust or intake is blocked which is causing a high limit to open until it cools
