Room fan operates continually
After replacing room heater fan motor with genuine EXACT replacement, turned power back on & now fan motor runs continually. Original fan motor gave out burning type smell & then began to trip safety fuse at main fuse power board. The only difference is that the run capacitor supplied by supplier of motor is only 8uf & the original was a 10uf. Same manufacture but lower uf's. Supplier said that they supply every new electric motor with new run capacitor that is correct for that motor.I don't think this is the cause but am I wrong ?

The capacitor is correct for the motor
all it does is supply an over voltage burst to start the motor turning, then to keep it running while the switch is on
if the capacitor was faulty in the original motor then the motor will burn out as that over voltage is not there but the current to run the motor is so the motor over heats and burns
as to the constant running it is important to check how you attached the wires to the new motor as you may have a power wire direct to the motor instead of through the switch control
Thankyou Bill for your response. Wiring is exact as original as it comes already prewired. Also I marked circuit board so when I removed original wiring it was easy to rehook up new motor wiring.
