ROPER RS22AQXMQ SIDE BY SIDE REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM
Cleaned the coils & turned back on. Operated for about 7 days then it started defrosting & both freezer & the refrigerator didn't refreeze or cool. Power was disconnect about 2 hrs then turned back on. Freezer started to freeze & refrigerator cooled back to 40deg at which time the cycle repeated itself. Changed the defrost timer which did not help the proplem. This refrigerator is 4 yrs old mfg date is 06/04.

I had the same problem with a top freezer. I found that the thermostat was bad by tapping on the it at the setting knob. The defrost timer was replaced first which did not help (repairman put in a timer for a Frigadair which will not work in a Roper). If one is used for a frigadair as soon as it cycles it will not work again until it is unplugged and allowed to reset. I replaced both the thermostat and the right defrost timer. It has worked great for over 2 months.
