Roper top load RTW4640YQ1 will not drain. It makes a grinding noise but no drain. Lowered drain hose and water runs out draining tub. So, no pumping water out, but no blockage.?

Could very possibly be a pin , coin , bra wire etc caught in the impeller blades preventing the pump from working
remove the pump and undo the housing of the impeller and check for obstruction
