Rough motor noise
When I turn it on, the brush rotates and it has suction, but the vacuum sounds a lot rougher than usual. Sounds as if the motor is grating or something.

How old is the sweeper? If it is 5-10 years old the motor is probably wearing out and would need it's bearings replaced. You can replace the whole sweeper for less.
