Rowe CD Jukebox
Hello,
I have a Rowe CD Jukebox. It sometimes skips when it plays a CD. I open the box and can sometimes hear what appears to be rubbing when the arm is down. If apply light upward pressure to the arm, it stops rubbing and plays fine until a new cd is selected. Is this something I could fix myself, or should I get service. Thanks

Since it is a CD Player (compared to the old jukes where there are some adjustment screws to play with), better have it serviced.
Check inside if any part is loose or any screw has wornout.just make it tight and checkout.if it still makes such noises.do not use it further just take it to the repair center and get it serviced to avoid further problems.as this is common problem and gets resolved after servicing.not to worry. thanks.

As you may know CD's are read via a laser light. When you apply light upward pressure you are basically aligning the arm so the laser is able to read the spinning disc without missing bits of info on tha disc. It sounds like a bushing may be worn in the actual arm assembly. If you are confident with your skills and have the correct tools, you may be able to fix it, however, unless you have a diagram showing all the parts I would have a tech come to the house. I am looking to see if I can find a diagram for you. Will post back.
