Rowenta steam generator
I have an older Rowenta steam generator iron -- about 5 years old -- and I can't screw the cap off anymore. When I press down while turning, it never releases and won't unscrew, even when it's cold (it's been unplugged for about a month, so it's pretty cold). Is there any way to fix this?

Maybe the cap is coated with mineral deposits. Do you use ONLY DISTILLED WATER in the iron? If not, minerals from the water could be the cause. Try pouring some CLR or a similar product over the cap and see if that frees it up . If it does, pour some CLR into the iron's tank, and set it to the highest temperature setting. Run the iron over an old towel to help clean the steam vents. Then fill the tank with DISTILLED WATER and do the same proceedure two more times using DISTILLED WATER ONLY to flush out any remining CLR.
