I know this question is a little old... but I had the same problem and I figured it out! Unscrew the red top to the bottle. Under the top there is a gasket (leave that alone) and a little clear plastic plug blocking an air hole. Pull the little plug out and put it back in the holder. (Be careful, liquid will come out of the hole). This allows for air and cleaner to flow through.. so viola! It's spraying! I was so mad when it didn't work (brand new). I wish it had come with this little tip on the packaging! Have fun! :)
can anyone describe the plug in the airhole that I might find a replacement?can anyone describe the plug in the airhole that I might find a replacement?

Underneath the cap, covering the small hole is a small clear rubber fitting that fits over that hole. Remove the rubber fitting and put it back in position. You may need to use a pair of tweezers to get it back in place as it is very small, about 1/16 of an inch. Mine was not spraying and that little rubber piece had turned itself inside out, not allowing any air to get in, creating a vacuum. This should fix the problem.
I have a Clorox Ready Mop that hasn't worked for years. I had refilled the bottle with a mop and glow type product and it got clogged up.This was before I knew that vinegar and water was the the best floor cleaner for vinyl flooring.I saw it hanging in the laundry room with my usual annoyance at how it doesn't work, and I thought I would look on line to see what to do. I expected some Mr. Fix-it posts, but instead found all Ms. Fix-it posts. :-)
I read these posts and then fiddled around with the various parts of the spraying hose, etc. I could see that there was a blockage inside the tube so I soaked the whole business in hot tap water as suggested. I found one little part that would open enough to let water into the clogged area. Anyway, after fiddling and pushing and pumping and so forth, I got it spraying again. One of the spray holes was plugged too , and I got that open with a safety pin tip. So now the "non-refillable" bottle is refilled with water and vinegar and it just did a splendid job on my kitchen floor. They really think we are idiots, don't they? LOL. Next I am going to make some washable pads with microfiber cloths from the dollar store. Then I will be "refill free".
When your Reveal will not squeeze you have o-ring swell on the piston which squirts the fluid out. I think the piston rubber swells under the influence of the solvents that people use to clean their floor. My fix, take it apart, and drill out (ream) the plastic cylinder the piston moves up and down in so it moves freely.
Now it works fine. I also stretched the spring a little.
The designers forgot about o-ring swell. Remember the Challenger?
Just clearing the gaskets in the water bottle was not enough for me. I ended up disassembling the entire pumping mechanism. Sure enough there was a black gasket that had become lodged within the spring mechanism. Once I removed as much of the gasket as I could, and reassembled it all. It works now!
All of that said, I feel I must disclose the getting the cover off was a matter of brute force. I don't believe it was ever meant to be disassembled. No the cover where it attached to the handle had to be broken but I did so in a way it did not cause any cosmetic or structural damage. Replacing the two screws, yes there are two, put the thing back together. The two screws in the handle do not need to be removed for any reason.

Soak it in white vinegar and pump it through. and rinse with hot water.
