You need to bleed the fuel right through to the injector pump. If there is no valve for the purpose you will have to loosen the pipe unions progressively towards the pump until fuel flows at all points one after the other. Many modern diesel engines have a valve and auxiliary hand pump to do the job .

Simply spray a little starter fluid in the air intake. Don't spray alot cause the engine will knock when it is trying to start.
