Change the fuel filter, make sure the fuel line is neither leaking nor blocked, unhook one end of the fuel pump to see if in fact it is "pumping" gas (there should be a small stream squirting out while running. Having done all that, drain the gas tank, put a couple capfuls of carb cleaner in the gas tank, fill it up with non-ethanol gas if you can find it (if not, use high test) and fire her up. If it's still rough, you've got a carburetor that's bad.
