Ruud UBHC AC System - Provides no Aux Heat
HI, I have a ruud UBHC AC system, a couple yrs ago i replaced the old honeywell stat with a shiny new ritetemp,(which i was told would work)
but now that it finally got chilly here in Florida i'm finding that may not be the case ..
Wires coming from my old Honeywell were
H(blue 24v from one side of transfomer in the heat exchager) W(white) Y(yellow) G(green) and R(red 24v from the other side of the transformer in the exchanger)
I wired to the ritetemp as following
g to g .. w to w .. y to y... r to RH/RC and H to C
which was as per the manual..
when i turn on my AC to Heat
the heat pump seems to run but i get no Aux heat
so inside the ritetemp stat theres jumper to kick in AUX only heat (no heatpump) so i jumpered that.. NO aux heat .. the fan runs but no heat, i went inside the exchanger and no mattter how i configure this i cannot get 240v onto the heater element.
The reason i need the aux heat is it seems that the heat pump is not working properly and it needs the extra push.. it only gets to 60degrees before settling there and providing no more heat.

Tried this on my unit today, and observed the same results, but got Aux Heat (with A setting), if the H (blue wire) connected to B terminal, as per instructions for my 6036 Ritetemp. However, in this case, when the set temp is reached, I hear the click, but HVAC still blows aux heat indefinitely.
I also have RUUD UBEA 17J10..., and replaced my old honeywell with 6036, and can't get heat pump working. Both of my units are 14 years old, so I'm thinking to replace them soon.
I tried W to W2 earlier today (I think ritetemp manual tells this as well), but still couldn't get heat pump working - it just blows normal air (not cold, not hot). Originally, the W wire was not used on the old termostat, so I guess it might be not wired in HVAC after all.
Regardless, would you know why would my aux heat not shut off after set temp has been reached... I hear a click in termostat, but the handler just keeps going for at least 10 minutes.
So, if you got all the heat functions working, please specify your wirings one more time... from you last post, I'm still not sure if you have your 3A or 3B turned on?
Thanks.
