April, You say you are suspicious that the smoke could have originated from the motor, BUT have you confirmed it? Have you tried running a short cycle without a load to see if the spin cycle rattles the machine or whether the machine works? Watch for smoke and turn off the machine immediately if you see or smell burning. If the motor is burnt, I think replacing should not be an option but rather replacing the machine should be considered.
Thank you so much for your prompt answer, I just runned a diagnosis check and the washer sent an F 54, F80 and F 83 errors. During the diagnosis check the agitator and drum span for a short period of time. During the draining time, there seemed to be something happening as the smell of smoke started to come, so I immediatly disconnected the washer. I waited, and manually span the drum and there was a rattling noise as the drum was spinning, that is the exact same noise that comes along with the airplane noise (like a metal rubbing noise) during the rinse/draining/spinning cycle. The smoke, is not coming from the motor, but from bellow the drum. It seems to me that it is the bearings that have worn out. But still do not know the extent of the damage. Thank you very much for helping me. Do you have any idea as to what the error codes F54, F80 and F83 mean? Thanks again.Thank you so much for your prompt answer, I just runned a diagnosis check and the washer sent an F 54, F80 and F 83 errors.
