sality i put it in a external usb connection then scan all its files to clean out all the infected files and directories by using avira antivirus after i scanned and clean all possible infections which is about 394 infections. i put it back in its own cpu afterwards it has lost its power so i thought that the power supply was broken or some sort i tried using another power supply still it wont power up nor you cant hear it spinning inside i know that it crashed but want i want to know is that is there any other ways that i can still revive it from the dead pls help does anyone have any answer
I did all that you told me to do but still my harddrive wont power up or even spin i tried putting it up again in my cpu or even my enclosure there is no indication that it has any power on at all and worst i thought my power supply has gone too but when i remove my harddrive my power supply is working i think that maybe my hardrive is has been shortcircuited. but thanks to all your answers . thanks guys
The only problem about putting the hard drive into an external box and doing a scan is that most virus softwares move the infected files to the virus vault or virus chest. By doing so it may have moved some of the operating system files to the other machine. If you have the original operating system cd, I would recommend trying to do a restore of the lost files by inserting the operating system disk and allowing the machine to boot from the disk. Then it should pop up a window that asks if you want to do an install or repair. Click on repair and it should go through and replace the missing files with a new version. If you cannot make it work, you may have to put it back into the external drive case and try putting them in manually. I have on occasion seen some destructive viruses that will disable the hard drive when the infection is removed. In a worst case scenario, You might try putting the hard drive back into the external case then moving all possible files to the other machine. Then install the drive back into the original machine and try doing a clean install of the operating system and moving the files back afterwards.
