When the phone asks for a PUK, is the new or old sim in the phone?
PUK is a code needed to unlock the sim card. It is possible that inititally the sim card's PIN was activated and tried to unlock with a erroneous code. After that, the phone will ask for the PUK code which can be found on the sim package. It is on the card where you took off the sim card. If you no longer have this card, you need to call your service provider to get the PUK code. PUK codes are not phone dependent but mobile number dependent.
