ScanMaker 9800XL scans but ScanWizard Pro shows black screen
ScanMaker 9800XL scans photos OK when I use Windows "camera and scanner wizard" but does not show the scanned image when I run
the scanner through the Scan Wizard Pro software. The scanner runs through the scanning process but displays only a uniform black image in the view window. Anybody got an idea what's wrong?
Note: I recently acquired the scanner without its software cd so I'm using the downloaded free 7.11 driver from the Microtek website.

Hi, Did you try scanning with out any sheet in it and see any difference.
I hope you are looking for the pics in right folder. Check the software settings if the scanned picture folder is some where else.
Also check if the scanned image is in jpg format. Some times different format may not be recognized and hence shown as a black image.
Good Luck
First, make sure your computer has been updated to at least Windows XP Service Pack 1....Service Pack 2 is even better. You can check this by right-clicking on my computer and selecting Properties from the menu. If you're using Service Pack 1 or earlier...it would be a good idea to run through the Windows Update process a few times.
Try downloading a new Scan Wizard file from this page on the MicroTek web site. When you do the install, it should remove any previous drivers and clean things up.
If this doesn't help, try to find the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard...usually located under Start>All Programs>Accessories. It may work even if the MicroTek software doesn't.
Good luck...and I hope this is helpful!!!!
regarding the s/f , you can try original one, that you are using. if not, then go for purchase. i would advise you to try this before spending fe bucks!!!!!
I know the above is 'Incase the wizard is not recognizing scanner"...that's not the case here but sometime it would work, incase you are unable to scan image!!!!

Its a driver software problem.u will have to download the latest driver and install it to solve the problem or else get the installation cd from device manufacturers website.
Its a software problem as it requires orignal cd to be downloaded.and the currently loaded software from internet is missing some important files.load the updated files.
