Screen goes black but power light stays on
I have an X2gen 19" wide lcd monitor. I think the model number is MW19R if that means anything. The problem is that whenever I turn my monitor on, it only stays on for a few minutes. The time seems to vary slightly. The screen will just go completely black as if it was powered off. However, the blue power light is still on. Therefore, I can simply press the power button to turn it off and then press it again to turn the monitor back on. The monitor then proceeds to work for several minutes and again and then the problem repeats.

Hello. I had the same problem with my X2gen 19" (model MW19R)monitor. In my case, the monitor would turn off after 20 seconds or so but the blue power light would stay on as well. I had to replace a high voltage capacitor located in the backlight power supply board. There are 4 blue capacitors on the board which are identical and they are marked as 27J 3KV. Fortunately, I only had to replace one of these capacitors ( it was turning a yellowish brownish color ). Hope this helps.
You have several capacitors on the power supply board which have changed their value. Using an ESR meter they'll be easy to locate. Sometime you can even spot them because they have bulged out their tops. If you don't have the capability to test and replace these then send it to a pro. I repair these all the time for a modest charge. You should be able to find someone locally.

Hi fixit24132
are you sure that 27J3KV is a 27 pF 3000 volts? or is it a 27 Joule energy capacitor operating at around 3000 Volts w/c must have capacitance of 6 microfarad?
this is quite confusing. i hope u can help
