Screen goes on then goes blank...comes back on after about 10 seconds??
I just got my hands on this set and haven't really gotten into it yet....it displays the video choice screen for about 20 seconds ( on the dark side to boot ) and then comes back. On off on off.The power supply is running because the set doesn't totally shut down. The lamp appears to be working and the fan is on all the time...green led in front also is on. Chanel an volume buttons on the side are pretty gummed up. Worth fixing...what to look for...I'm thinking part of the power supply is not working right or some failsafe circuit in operation is causing the problem because a part went by by.

There are one or more bad capacitors on the circuit board inside the tv. You must replace the circuit board module. A repairman will have to replace it ..Ebay used to have repair kits where you could site the bad capacitors , remove and re-solder new ones supplied with the kit. However; you must have some basic knowledge of circuit board repair. Otherwise if it is old or second hand ...Throw it out.
