Screen is half blank and other various verical lines
Turned it on. Screen is basically half blank and the other vertical lines. Have sound since notifications ringtone goes off. Any ideas on what happened or to do? No insurance. Thank you

Hardware issue, your device's screen is more than likely broken. If you have a warranty on it, act on that, if not, do what you can to replace it.
