Hit the Windows Key (or ctrl-escape). Now the cause of the problem is revealed. Right click on the tab on the bottom of the screen that refers to the IE blank page, select minimum or close. I don't know why it does that. I would use Chrome or FireFox, & delete Internet Explorer.
