I removed the circuit boards from the monitor. No bad caps. Nothing looked out of the ordinary. They all looked fine. I did notice some heat discoloration on the opposite side of the boards but no burning of any circuits. There are a couple chips on one of the boards so I gently pushed them in because I have heard of "chip creep" in the past. I reassambled the monitor and have been using it all day without the problem occuring. There are 7 connectors from the boards to the monitor. Maybe a loose connection has been reestablished?????
Try it on another PC first, if it is still bad, read on. When you have strange symptom like this, first thing to look for are the caps (bad caps with bulging tops) inside.
