The "serious disk error" message is very significant as it indicates a hard drive fault.
Offhand, have you considered a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair? This would require opening the unit, removing the failed hard drive, replace or upgrade. This process actually requires "marrying" the new drive to the 5100's system.

Well it seems that there is some problem in the HDD of your player. if this is in warranty then you can replace it, just ask for replacement to your dealer. if you need any further help regarding solution then post some comments.....
