Services: Does this sound right?

I have a 08 Mojito Custom 125. It's 8mts old and have 4000kms/ 2500miles on it. I had it serviced at 1000kms/600miles as an after run in service. I've just had to have it serviced again at 4000kms/2500miles because it was having problems starting. I've been told by my mechanic that I need to get it serviced every 4000kms/2500miles ... but that not what the manual says. It's working great again after the second service ... but was it really due one?

The only time that one should give serious concern to the recommended service is if it may cancel your warranty. Other than that it is strictly a recommendation. If your warranty has expired, have it serviced when you feel it should be. General Curtis LeMay, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
