Set up menu
The set up menu comes up on the screen while we are watching the tv. It stays on a few seconds then goes off only to come back on a few minutes. We called tech support and they said to unplug the set and then plug it again and it would go through automatic programming. This hasn't worked. We called tech support back and the second guy said to take it to a service center.

Your set could be losing the 5v to the system control chip, or the keys on the remote or front panel may be sticking. You could also have a power supply with diodes or capacitors that are dying.
If you don't know how to service this, don't even bother opening the cover.
