I had a new moen single handle shower/tub put in with a new tub and now i get get hot water from the shower. i have a new hot water heater which was checked. i get hot water in the sink and the kitchen, but the shower water was 8-10 degrees cooler. i took off the safety stop so the handle can turn wide open but no change. i have heard of the mixing valve?

Their are safety settings from factory --anti scalding remove handle and cover you will see a blue ring and a red ring adjust the rings for the temp you want
You can cap the lines at the tub faucet to rule out tub faucet. It maybe mixing there.
Faucet may be bad also the safety stop will alow you to change water temp it can be tricky to adjust water temp.
